Liverpool’s Champions League Comedy of Errors…

PARC DES PRINCES, PARIS // Liverpool pulled off a baffling 1-0 win against PSG in the Champions League, with Alisson Becker turning into a wall and making Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembele look like cartoon characters chasing goals. Kvaratskhelia almost scored but was stopped by VAR’s favorite pastime: the dreaded offside call. Alisson turned into a superhero, effortlessly stopping shots and making fans wonder if he moonlights as a magician.

The second half was a case of Liverpool being surrounded by 25 PSG shots, but none could breach the fortress called Alisson. Enter Harvey Elliott, the super-sub, who triumphed with a last-minute strike worthy of a dramatic Hollywood flick. Amidst all this, Alisson was the shining star, pulling saves out of nowhere and letting his teammates marvel at his brilliance.

Now, the losers. Andy Robertson had the time of his life chasing PSG players, but his friend Luis Diaz didn’t back him up. Meanwhile, Diogo Jota bemused the crowd with his disappearing acts. Liverpool now has a second leg to prepare for, hopefully, with fewer antics but just as much fun!
