Liverpool’s Laughter and Lessons Before PSG Clash…
Virgil van Dijk has issued a hilariously stern reminder to his Liverpool pals that the Champions League isn’t a piece of cake just yet! Even after escaping a French fry frenzy at the Parc des Princes with a one-goal lead, thanks to the sneaky footwork of substitute superman Harvey Elliott, the Reds know there’s work to be done. Alisson, the wonder goalie with more saves than Mario, pulled out nine show-stopping saves – the most since people actually started counting these things over 20 years ago!
According to our Dutch defender and quite possibly Liverpool’s tallest comedian, “Alisson is the best goalkeeper in the universe, and I don’t just say that because I fancy his gloves.” But despite the heroics, Van Dijk insists that it’s not time to book that trip to the quarters just yet. With giant-killing skills needed as they welcome PSG to Anfield, the big man warned, “They fancy their chances, these Parisians, so we need to bring our A-game – and maybe a few baguettes just to throw them off.”
Asked if PSG was his hardest challenge yet, Van Dijk chuckled, “Come on, those French fireworks were expected. But hey, it’s all about teamwork, everyone pitching in like a Sunday brunch. We’re ready to serve some justice, and maybe some football too, at Anfield. Just remind everyone – no work is ever done here at Liverpool until the final whistle!”
