Talk about being a tough act to follow! Now, Mamardashvili might have to settle for an intense game of musical chairs – or gloves, in this case – before securing his spot.
Slot’s diplomatic approach didn’t give much away when prodded about Giorgi’s grand entrance. Ruling out the possibility of handing over the reins, he simply praised Alisson’s professional wizardry in the net. Meanwhile, Mamardashvili’s challenges in Valencia, including their relegation woes, mean the competition will be fiercer than a Merseyside derby. Still, choosing the right goalie could very well be the toughest decision Slot faces since deciding whether to wear a suit or tracksuit.
