Jones Clears the Klopp Catastrophe …

Curtis Jones found himself in a slightly awkward spot when his comments about loving Arne Slot’s style had folks thinking he was throwing shade at Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp. The young midfielder made waves in preseason when he gushed about how happy he was playing under Slot, saying it was his best time at the club. “I’ve always needed to adapt and change, but now I feel like I’m in my element,” Jones cheerfully declared. Apparently, this had everyone clutching their Liverpool scarves in suspense.

For those assuming there was drama bubbling away, hold your horses! Jones now insists he never meant to ruffle Klopp’s perfectly German feathers. “No, no, it wasn’t a diss,” reiterated the 24-year-old. “Jurgen turned me from a lad to a man – no shading involved!” While some thought he was doubling down when complimenting Slot’s style, Curtis assures again it’s all love for Klopp. “Jurgen saw my potential even when I thought I’d need a loan out,” he further mused, proving Klopp will always have a place in his heart.

Currently, Curtis is putting the mischief behind him as he seeks to make this his best season yet. Already with loads of appearances under his belt and a saucy senior England squad call-up, Jones is living his football fairy tale. With a cheeky grin and a nod to Klopp, he’s all set for the Carabao Cup final clash with Newcastle. Let’s hope he brings his A-game to Wembley – Klopp will surely be watching!
