Newcastle’s Cup Win: From Embarrassment to Ecstasy…

Hold on to your hats, Toon Army! Newcastle United is ready to paint the town black and white with their Carabao Cup victory parade. No more trophy-less parades! The Newcastle faithful are buzzing as they gear up for the home soil fiesta on March 29. It’s been seven decades folks, so we reckon it’s about time they celebrate something other than finishing mid-table.

Alan Shearer, our favorite Newcastle legend, might have a chuckle remembering those awkward parades back in ’98 and ’99. The poor bloke twice did a victory lap with zilch to show, after Liverpool gate-crashed their FA Cup finals party. “How flipping ridiculous is this?” Shearer laughed to Gary Lineker on the Match of the Day’s Top 10 podcast, reminiscing about parading empty-handed but still basking in the unwavering support of dedicated fans. Fast forward to now, and you can bet he’s over the moon that the Magpies finally have a reason to strut their stuff.

Now, with Bruno Guimaraes and Kieran Trippier proudly hoisting the cup, head coach Eddie Howe’s ready to toast this glistening triumph. “We waited, we conquered, and boy, did we deserve it!” Howe exclaimed, still drenched in ‘celebration’ courtesy of Joelinton. Newcastle fans, rejoice! The days of parades without bling are long gone, so let’s raise a pint in honor of this long-awaited win. Cheers!
