Kostas Tsimikas has quite the taste in football idols, placing Steven Gerrard on a higher pedestal than some legends like Zinedine Zidane, Xavi, and Kaka. Initially, during a blind-ranking game for Goal, where names were flying around fast like a football in a pinball machine, Tsimikas slotted Lionel Messi at the top. But then the dramatic revelation had him bumping up Gerrard to the second place. Move over Picasso, this ranking game is Tsimikas’ masterpiece!
Now that the secret identities are out, Tsimikas reshuffled the ranks, keeping Messi king of the hill. Meanwhile, Gerrard and Zidane shimmied up the leaderboard to second and third. Despite not knowing if he’ll stay in Liverpool with transfers teasing more suspense than a thriller movie cliffhanger, Tsimikas remains unfazed. Though playing 27-29 games might sound like an odd endurance sport involving bouncy castles for other teams, he is thrilled with his role surrounded by the Reds.
