Liverpool fans can breathe a sigh of relief as Mohamed Salah inked a fresh two-year contract, leaving the club without the headache of hunting for a new star. Rumors once linked Bryan Mbeumo as a potential successor – as if expecting a goldfish to outswim a dolphin! But now at Man United, eyes will be on Mbeumo to see if he can pull off any Salah-like magic. It’s challenging to expect the same results, but hey, hope springs eternal at Old Trafford, doesn’t it?
Salah left a mighty crazy goal record with 29 goals and 18 assists in the 2024/25 Premier League season – numbers that could make a mathematician dizzy. Mbeumo, despite a career-best year, scored 20 goals and eight assists, trailing Salah by a hefty 19-goal contributions. Overperformance often isn’t sustainable, much like expecting Santa to show up for Thanksgiving dinner! Nevertheless, there’s a small glimmer of hope that Mbeumo might shine, or he could plummet back to earth with a more predictable impact.
