Paul Merson reckons Eberechi Eze is the final jigsaw piece Arsenal needs to give Liverpool’s title defense a run for their money. But like a cat caught in a laser pointer’s glare, Gunners fans might find themselves under pressure to break their 22-year title dry spell. Arsenal has inked a whopping £68 million ($91M) deal for the Crystal Palace midfielder, with his medical on the horizon. Kai Havertz’s injury nudged this move, following the signings of Noni Madueke and Viktor Gyokeres to supercharge their attack, starting with Martin Zubimendi joining the midfield party.
Merson sees Arsenal under the microscope as they’ve addressed their issues with the precision of a surgeon during an over-caffeinated operation.
