Alisson Shares His Side of the Goal Saga…

Alisson Becker couldn’t contain his joy when Federico Chiesa scored the all-important goal for Liverpool against Bournemouth last week. The Italian took the spotlight, much like finding a lost sock on laundry day, as he helped the Reds secure the victory. Mohamed Salah then put the final nail in Bournemouth’s coffin, while Antoine Semenyo had earlier scored twice to keep things interesting. “I believe anything is possible if we keep faith till the last second,” said Alisson, likely thinking he’d give free hugs if it helped score goals. He humorously confessed to Chiesa, “Seeing you score makes me okay with the goals I let in!”

Chiesa didn’t grace the field much last season but now, as the fourth choice following the sales of Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez, he might just pull a cat out of his hat—not that he wears hats. “When he scores, his celebration makes it look like he’s just won a lifetime supply of gelato,” laughed Alisson. Though Chiesa loves a good Italian grumble, it’s always in the spirit of team improvement. As the Reds prepare for Newcastle, the buzz about Alexander Isak still lingers, but like chasing a unicorn, he remains elusive. Nevertheless, Chiesa’s goal has given Liverpool fans another reason to dream big.
