Danny Ings Signs Free Transfer Deal…

Former Liverpool star Danny Ings has trekked over to Sheffield United on a free transfer, following an escape from West Ham’s clutches earlier this summer. Back in 2015, Liverpool nabbed Ings from Burnley for $8.8 million, mainly because he was scoring goals like seagulls dive-bombing a sandwich on the beach. But his Liverpool career was like a horror movie for knees, with injuries haunting him at every turn. Just as he was brushing off the cobwebs for a new season, his knees decided they needed another holiday.

Though his Liverpool days were an injury-ridden rollercoaster, fans will be happy to see him at Sheffield United, signed on for one year. Sheffield, attempting to climb from the Championship depths, has had a rocky start, like a toddler learning to walk on ice. After his $24 million move to Southampton, where he scored goals like they were going out of fashion, his spells at Villa and West Ham were less glorious. Now, after three months without a football home, Ings makes his Championship comeback. Liverpool must have felt like they’d won the jackpot with their share in the sell-on clause!
