Newcastle’s Striker Shuffle Amid Isak Drama…
Alexander Isak has reportedly decided to throw a mega tantrum worthy of a reality TV show as he pines for a Liverpool move, leaving Newcastle United to scramble for new plans as the Premier League season draws near. Head coach Eddie Howe, perhaps dreaming of simpler times, has shown Isak the door for bad behavior. Liverpool dangled $148 million earlier, hoping Newcastle might get dollar signs in their eyes, but Isak stomping his feet isn’t changing the club’s 2028 contract with him. Newcastle might pop Gordon into the forward position like the world’s most expensive toaster if Isak continues playing hide and seek, while Yoane Wissa is eyed to bolster their roster.
Even with Isak’s antics faster than a cheetah on rollerblades, Newcastle’s wealthy owners still want his selling value tallied precisely. Without a solid replacement, letting Isak go seems about as wise as swapping a gourmet meal for a burger. Losing veteran Callum Wilson hasn’t made the task of bagging a new striker any easier, but Anthony Elanga’s arrival could mix things up in the attack. With Yoane Wissa as the prime target, Brentford’s manager is already prepping for Wissa’s jump ship. Howe, amusingly comparing the transfer saga to a balancing act on a unicycle, remains hopeful for squad improvements: “I think we need more. We’ve got some big gaps within the squad still.”
