Nike is being shown the door, making room for Adidas to work their three-striped magic once again with the team.
Previously adorning Liverpool jerseys from 1985-1996 and 2006-2012, Adidas is back like a comfy pair of sneakers you just canāt throw away. And get this ā theyāre not just stepping in for nostalgia. Oh no, theyāre doubling up on what Nike was shelling out ā a cool $39 million/Ā£30 million a year! Talk about putting the āadda-daaā in Adidas! With Salah and Van Dijk out of contract, the timing couldnāt be better to bolster a few cheeky contract extensions.
Adidas execs are probably crossing their fingers and toes, hoping to see stars like Salah and Van Dijk prancing around in their fresh kits next season. Liverpool announced the switch with much fanfare, reminiscing about the good olā days when their kits paved the way for silverware galore.
