U21s and U18s Suffer Setbacks…

While Rio Ngumoha almost broke the sound barrier with his electrifying goal against Newcastle, becoming Liverpool’s youngest-ever Premier League scorer, the rest of the youth divisions had a week they’d likely want to forget. The U21 squad experienced a 3-2 setback to Burnley in a game where they controlled the ball like a mother hen with her chicks. Despite this, Burnley’s McMahon-Brown seemingly had a bus pass for the goal and claimed victory for his team.

Not to be outdone in kerfuffle, the U18s faced Aston Villa and fell 2-1 after a fireworks start. They were ready to stage a comeback when defender Harvey Owen saw red—possibly mistaking it for one of Liverpool’s jersey colors—and was sent off, leaving the team one player short. With upcoming matches against Stoke City and Burnley, the young Reds are hoping for more than just being nominated for a comedy award at their next games.
