Liverpool’s transfer ambitions are having more hiccups than a nervous squirrel in a caffeine shop, with Joe Gomez reportedly in talks to exit the club right as their quest to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace hits the rocks. Despite tailing Guehi all summer like a teenager with a crush, the Reds’ $47 million bid was declined because Palace clung to dreams of an extra $7 million in add-ons. With Palace and Liverpool $13 million apart, tensions are higher than a giraffe on stilts. Guehi might not wear red just yet, but Liverpool still hopes their package will be sweet enough.
To add more noodles to the spaghetti mess, Joe Gomez might be packing his bags for the Italian sun! AC Milan has apparently set its sights on him as a Plan B, just in case they miss out on Manuel Akanji. Like a fashionista at a sale, Milan allegedly put in a bid for Gomez and negotiations are in full swing. Gomez recently expressed his fond memories of Liverpool, reminiscing about his decade at Anfield like a grandparent showcasing dusty family photos, but he may end up sharing pasta instead of Scouse soon!
