In a scene straight out of a football-themed farce, Gary Neville embarked on a stealth mission most spies would envy! The legendary Red Devil was spotted making a hasty retreat from Anfield, attempting the ol’ “if no one sees me, it didn’t happen” escapade as Liverpool fans erupted into celebratory carnival mode. Alas, his ninja antics came to naught when he bumped into none other than the Anfield Mythbuster himself, John Aldridge!
Like a comedic tango, Neville shuffled past Aldridge, who quipped he’d dash away too if the tables were turned at Old Trafford. It was a scene complete with Neville’s head down in silent agreement as “You’ll Never Walk Alone” echoed with the sarcasm of a friendly rival. As Liverpool secured their hard-fought throne alongside Manchester United, the air was thick with the satisfaction of 20 titles — and the cheekiness of live commentary.
Before kick-off, Neville had declared he’d bounce faster than a beach ball in the Kop, fearing he’d be trapped in LFC land forever.
