Weekend of Wonder-goals and Wacky Wins…
Holy Nutmeg! Liverpool unleashed an avalanche of goals this weekend, with Arne Slot watching his squad stomp all over Stoke in a game that was so secretive, even the ball kept changing its jersey. Slot’s team went bananas, scoring 5 in what could only be called a pre-season banana split — and all this before lunch! The sky was the limit as Darwin ‘Dynamo’ Nunez banged in a hat-trick while Chiesa and Ngumoha took a break from their video game to bag a goal each.
Meanwhile, Liverpool’s Under-21s were feeling Celtic vibrations with an 8-goal serenade that left the opposition in orbit. Lightning-footed Kaide Gordon scored twice, joined by a bunch of fresh-faced goal-hungry youngsters who made Celtic look like their boots were tied together. This gumboot dance was lead by Kieran Morrison, Trent Kone-Doherty, Owen Beck (twice, for good measure!), Keyrol Figueroa, and Oakley Cannonier, bringing the day to a knee-slapping close.
But wait, there’s more! Just when we thought the Liverpool train had left the talent station, here comes Hugo Ekitike, about to join the red squad faster than you can say “top bin.” It’s a goal-fest out here, with academy guru Rob ‘Wrangles-the-Dragons’ Page now orchestrating the symphony, conducting his band of footy maestros to new heights. If goals were gold, Liverpool would be kings of the universe by now!
